Hurt Pitso Hits Back At Zamalek

Pitso Mosimane has stated that he is hurt by losing the Egyptian Premier League title, but hit back at claims from a Zamalek legend the domestic league is tougher than the CAF Champions League.

Earlier in the week, former Zamalek captain Khaled El-Ghandour had made the audacious claim that the Egyptian league is “200 times more difficult” than the Champions League.

Mosimane was asked about those claims after his side’s final league – a 2-1 win over Aswan – and asked why Zamalek haven’t won the Champions League of late, if it was so easy.

“The Egyptian league is totally different from Champions League,” Mosimane told reporters.

“Some people say the Champions League is more easier than the league.

“If the Champions League is that easy, why don’t you win it and when was the last time you won it?

“I don’t want to mention teams names, who lost in Champions League two times but we beat that time with four goals.”

Mosimane also promised that he will come back stronger and hungrier after returning to South Africa for a short break.

“I want to thank the fans for their support. I’m going home tomorrow,” he added.

“I have never been more than three days at home in 11 months and I’m going back for 4.5 days.

“I’m not complaining because I’m committed to the team because I’m very, very hurt about losing the league.

“I’m a coach, I’m a winner. I win trophies. We Will be back.”
