New Downs Signing Sends Emotional Farewell Message
New Mamelodi Sundowns signing Pavol Šafranko has sent an emotional farewell message to his club’s fans ahead of his widely expected move to South Africa.
The 26-year-old will join Masandawana from Romanian side Sepsi OSK, in a deal worth €700 000 (R12 million), according to Sepsi’s Sporting Director Attila Hadnagy.
Šafranko scored nine goals and assisted in another seven to help his side qualify for a European competition for a first time.
“I want to say just BIG thank you for Sepsi OSK family. People who I met there emotions what we feel together,” he said.
“AMAZING we were sometimes sad but in the end we made it we MADE HISTORY we are in Europa conference league !!!!
“Good luck for future SEPSI OSK family I want that you will remember that I give all the time 100% from my self for club colours.”
Šafranko had hoped to represent his country at the upcoming UEFA European Championship but was cut from Slovakia’s official 24-man squad, being named on the back-up list.
He last represented Slovakia in November 2020 and is yet to score a goal for his country after making 10 appearances.
