Ronaldo Close To Man Utd Return

Juventus have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will leave the club this window, with Manchester United coming the frontrunners to sign him.

The 36-year-old is understood to have pushed for a move and already said his goodbye to his teammates.

It was initially thought that Juve and City still need to agree to a deal, but coach Massimiliano Allegri had confirmed Ronaldo’s departure in a press conference on Friday.

“Yesterday, Cristiano told me that he no longer has any intention to play for Juventus. For this reason he will not be called up for tomorrow’s game,” Allegri said, as per the club’s social media account.

“I am not disappointed with the departure of Ronaldo. Cristiano made his choice. There have been great champions here like Del Piero, Zidane, Buffon but we move on.

“Ronaldo made his contribution, he made himself available, now he goes away, and life goes on.”

Manchester City had reportedly offered Ronaldo a two-year contract but have later withdrawn themselves from the negotiations.

Ronaldo’s former club, Manchester United, have made a late entry into the negotiations instead and have seemingly hijacked the deal to bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, as per The Telegraph.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, United have offered Ronaldo a two-year deal worth £25 million a year.

Ronaldo made 134 appearances for Juventus, scoring 101 goals and assisting in another 22. He lifted five trophies during three years at the Allianz Arena.
