Zungu Returns To Amiens

Bongani Zungu has finally returned to France to continue his stint with Amiens after failing secure a move away from the club in the previous transfer window.

The 28-year-old but had stayed in South Africa after struggling to get a Visa to return to France due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Zungu had been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs during the window after many believed he would be a free agent.

However, he still has contract until the end of the season and has now returned to the Ligue 2 side, Courrier Picard confirmed.

He arrived in Amiens on Tuesday and is currently observing a seven-day self quarantine. The French publication also stated that Zungu had an offer from a Portuguese club but seemingly rejected it.

Zungu was on loan at Rangers last season but only had four starts for the Scottish giants, despite being part of their ‘Invincibles’ squad that went unbeaten through the Premiership.

His time in Scotland was overshadowed by him breaching Covid-19 rules after being caught partying with four other players.

At Amiens, he has made 59 appearances so far but most of them have come in Ligue 1 before club got relegated in 2020.

Amiens have started the new campaign with just one victory from their first six games, drawing two and losing three.
