Blom – What Broos Told Us

After having made his debut for Bafana Bafana in the 1-0 victory over Ghana, Kaizer Chiefs’ Njabulo Blom has revealed what coach Hugo Broos told the team before they beat the Black Stars.

Blom came on in the second half, and played a role, as it was his initial cross into the box, that led to the attacking movement that saw Bongokuhle Hlongwane score the winner.

The 21-year-old says it’s every player’s dream to represent their country, and he is grateful for the opportunity.

“I think we did well as players,” Blom told Kaizer Chiefs’ media department.

“Obviously most of the players were new, we are new, we are all new, and we are all young. Obviously the first game, I think we were still scared to showcase our talent, but then the coach told us to be free, and to go out there and enjoy.

“So I think the second game, that’s what we did. We we went out there, and we played and we gave our best.

“I’d like to obviously thank God for the opportunity that he gave me.

“And also thank the coaches for giving me the opportunity. Because like it’s every player’s dream to represent their national team, and to get their first debut on the national team.

“So it’s really a great feeling. And I really appreciate the opportunity that I’ve been given.”
