Bayhill Premier Cup Kicks Off

The 35th edition of the Bayhill Premier Cup kicks off on Wednesday at Erica Park in Belhar, Cape Town.

South Africa’s biggest and longest-running U19 tournament traditionally kicks off on the Wednesday before the Easter weekend, with all the teams competing on the day being Cape Town-based sides.

The first games of the day will see Ubuntu taking on Westridge, Young Bafana facing Clover FC, and Hanover Park meeting Rygersdal. Those matches all kick off at 15h00.

At 16h15 SSS Academy take on Elsies River United, Cape Town Spurs meet Everton, while Stellenbosch face Rebels FC.

At 17h30 Greenwood Athletic take on FC Porto, before the 19h00 game between Cape Town City and the SAFA Cape Town Academy.

On Thursday, the travelling teams, including one of the early favourites, Mamelodi Sundowns, will begin their campaigns.

Agents and scouts from almost every South African club that employs recruitment staff, and a few international representatives, will be in Cape Town this week to see if they can unearth the next big talent.

iDiski Times has gathered that the tournament organisers have been inundated with requests for scouting accreditations, as the agents and scouts hope to discover some of the unknown talent playing at this year’s 35th edition.

Tickets are available at WebTickets, alternatively for those outside of Cape Town, the tournament will be streamed on the SuperSport Schools App and DStv channel 216.
