The fixtures for the Home Of Legends Cup one-day tournament that is set to take place at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium have been confirmed, with Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs avoiding each other initially.
Chiefs, Sundowns, Chippa United, and Lamontville Golden Arrows will contest in the inaugural Home Of Legends Cup on 16 November at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

There had been drama between The Chilli Boys and the tournament organisers, which initially saw Cape Town City replacing them but a few days later United was recalled to the tournament after they solved their issues.
The first semi-final will take place at 10am between Arrows and Chiefs which will then be followed by the second semi between Chippa and Sundowns at 13h00pm. The final will be played at 17h00 on the very same Saturday.
iDiski Times had the honour speaking to Putco Mafani, a brand ambassador and media liaison of Home Of Legends, and he explained the tournament rules and what to expect on the day.

“We are happy that the issues between Chippa United and tournament organizers have been resolved, we can confirm that it’s Chippa United, Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Lamontville Golden Arrows,” Mafani told iDiski Times.
“The format is three matches (two semi-finals and final) in one day, after 90 minutes it goes straight to penalties, gates will be opened at 08h00 am, the first semi-final is between Arrows and Chiefs which will kickoff at 10h00. The second semi-final is at 13h00 between Chippa United and Sundowns.
“There will be artists in between which will keep people entertained, Pastor The DJ, Siyanda Tenza, Mr Vee Sholo, Sdudla & Mathousand, Trompies, TKzee.
“Eastern Cape MEC Sibulele Ngongo, Eastern Cape mayor Babalwa Lobishe, and Unathi Nkayi will be the MC for the bash from 09h00 until late.”
Mafani also gave an update on ticket sales and warned fans to abide by the stadium rules after some recent pitch invasions.
“Tickets are selling like hotcakes, we currently sitting at 21.500 tickets sold,” he added.
“South African football has been embarrassed by football fans who did pitch invasion, I can tell you now we won’t tolerate that, the security will be very tight whoever attempts to do that will face the hand of law.
“We pleading to football supporters to behave and enjoy the event. You can imagine all this for R199, three matches, and a bash. That’s the package.
“There’s ongoing talks with broadcasters, regarding televising the matches. We expecting everything to be confirmed during the week.”
