Stellenbosch Head Coach Steve Barker feels that while AmaZulu are getting better, they are a team his side can beat.
Barker was speaking ahead of this afternoon’s DStv Premiership match at the Kings Park Stadium.
Both Stellenbosch and AmaZulu did not play midweek games, so Stellenbosch go into this game on the back of a draw against Kaizer Chiefs, while AmaZulu beat Baroka.
Barker, a former AmaZulu coach, says that his team have been quite good on the road, and if they take their chances, they are capable of beating Benni McCarthy’s team.
“Ja, no, look Rob, I think it’s clear to see that AmaZulu are getting better, though they haven’t won as many games as they would have liked,” Barker said.
“They’ve created a lot of opportunities to win matches, so again a challenging fixture for us, but ja I think we’ve been strong also away from home, we’re a difficult team to play against.”
“I do believe we can go to AmaZulu with an expectation that if we play the way we can then and improve on taking the chances that we ourselves create, teams like AmaZulu are teams that we feel we can beat away from home, and that will be the aim, one hundred percent.”
