City Announce Another Goalkeeper
Cape Town City have continued to strengthen their goalkeeping department, announcing the signing of Portuguese/Angolan keeper Hugo Marques.
The club has already brought in Bafana Bafana shot-stopper Darren Keet, as well as former Maritzburg United keeper Bongani Mpandle.
However Keet is not available immediately, and is out for a few months still with a muscle injury.
Marques is now the third signing in that department, that needed strengthening after the departure of Peter Leeuwenburgh at the end of last season.
Marques, who started his career at Porto 18 years ago. had previously been at SC Farense in Portugal.
The club have also had to replace their goalkeeping coach, after Sjoerd Woudenberg left the club. The Dutch coach has since signed for Orlando Pirates.
City have turned to 34-year-old Spaniard, Jorge Marugán, who has already linked up with Eric Tinkler’s technical team.
