Cape Town City have confirmed that Peter Leeuwenburgh will join Ere-Divisie side FC Groningen at the end of the season.
iDiski Times reported earlier this week that the Dutch goalkeeper was set to join Groningen, and now City have confirmed that the two parties have agreed on terms.
Leeuwenburgh will remain at City until the end of the season before heading home to continue his career.
Leeuwenburgh told Rob Delport in iDiski Times Edition 10 that it could be the right moment for him to return to Holland.
“Yeah, I can’t say I’m not thinking about it,” Leeuwenburgh told iDiski Times in Edition 10 of the newspaper.
“I’ve been here for now almost three years and when this season is done, and yeah, and if I stay fit, and I’ll play every game, then it’s like just over 90 games, 90 games and I’m 26.”
“So if I still want to achieve a bit more in my career, that could be the right moment to go back.”
