Donn – No Time To Cry Over Spilt Milk

SuperSport United midfielder says their stoppage time loss against Royal AM was a tough result to take, and they’re looking to bounce back in their DStv Premiership against TS Galaxy this evening.

SuperSport host Galaxy at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium at 17h30.

In their midweek game, Royal AM scored twice in stoppage time to win 2-1 in Durban, and Donn says the team need to take responsibility for the loss and bounce back.

“It was a really tough pill to swallow, losing against Royal AM the way we did,” Donn told the club’s media department.

“Obviously, we knew they’re a good team, and we knew that they, in quite a few games, they actually scored late goals, and we were aware of that.

“But we just we fought so hard throughout the game, gave a really good, big effort and to concede two goals in such a short space of time, right at the death is really disappointing. Obviously, the circumstances in the game made it more difficult, and that’s something we have to take responsibility for as a team.

“But ja, going away, traveling away and being so close to getting a good result, and then losing it like that, ja, it’s disheartening, but we have another game on Friday, and there’s no time to cry over spilt milk. We are now shifting our focus on to Friday’s game.

“You know, another game, three days between the two games, so travel back the next day, have one training session and then play another game. So in terms of recovery and preparation, we don’t have the most amount of time.

“And that’s why it’s even more important to to put the Royal AM game behind us as quick as possible. Ja, we will prepare as best we can for TS Galaxy, we know that they are a good team, despite having had a rocky start to the season. I think they’ve just been unlucky and balls haven’t been going in the net for them.

“That being said, their last result they managed to get a win. So they will come with a lot of confidence into that game.

“And we’ll be looking to continue our good start to the season despite two to dissatisfactory results recently. And so ja, a bit of change in fortunes for both teams.”
