Hunt – Everybody Stuck To The Plan

Gavin Hunt was pleased after Chippa United got off to a winning start in the DStv Premiership on Saturday, with a 1-0 win over promoted Sekhukhune United.

Veluyeke Zulu’s first half goal was enough for the Gqeberha outfit, as they picked up a valuable three points on the road.

Hunt says that considering all the factors, he was happy with the win, and the defensive effort from his team.

“I thought it was going to be certainly a difficult game,” Hunt said after the win.

“Because of our situation, not having players available, certainly seven or eight from the starting XI not there, we couldn’t make any changes really, in the front area.

“But I knew we can obviously organize, it was good and everybody stuck to the plan.

“But the bigger task ahead of us, that’s for sure, coming, but to start with the three points, especially where we have been, we need to try and build from that, it won’t be on Tuesday, that’s for sure.

“Ja, a good team effort. I thought everybody did well, defensively It was good.”

Chippa host defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Tuesday.
