Grant Kekana says joining Mamelodi Sundowns has been great, and having friends at the club has made adapting easier.
Kekana joined as a free agent after leaving neighbours SuperSport United after six seasons.
The 28-year-old may be new to the club, but he is no stranger to Tshwane, and has played his entire professional career in the city.
He made his debut as a teenager for SuperSport back in the 2010/11 season, but from 2013 spent two seasons playing for AmaTuks, before returning to Matsantsana in 2015.
“It feels good, it’s always nice moving into a new environment with familiar faces, I think (that) has also helped me to gel with the boys,” Kekana told the club’s website.
Kekana says linking up with good friend Aubrey Modiba, has also made the transition easier. The pair had played together at SuperSport and are involved in a number of community projects together.
“(Our friendship is) good, inside and outside of football because there are also a few community projects that we tend to partner up with. I think our relationship goes even beyond the football aspect.”
