Laffor – If I Can Score, I Will Score

Anthony Laffor says he is ready to give everything when Chippa United face his former team Mamelodi Sundowns in the DStv Premiership today.

Laffor joined Chippa this season, after spending 8 years at log-leaders Sundowns, and says playing against a former team is one of those things that happens in football.

The former Liberian captain says that after Sundowns lost for the first time in 28 games on Friday, when they suffered a 2-0 defeat to CR Belouizdad in the CAF Champions League, he expects them to be gunning for a win, but he feels Chippa could surprise people.

Chippa, currently being led by interim coach, Siyabulela Gwambi, are 15th in the league.

“I’ve been in this situation before when I left Supersport and moved to Sundowns, I played against SuperSport,” Laffor told Chippa media.

“So for me, I have been in there before. I’ve been receiving messages from some of my former teammates, and now some of the Sundowns supporters, and all of them positive. You know, they want me to do my best, they want me to give you 100%.”

“I’m a professional and I am a Chippa United player so I will be representing Chippa United against Mamelodi Sundowns (tomorrow) and I’m ready to give 100% if I can score I will score, if I can create I will create, but the game is important for every one of us.”

“You know, they just lost a game, so you should know that they’re going to come out hard, they going to come hard.”

“But, we know that, I’ve been speaking to the coaches, I spoke to some of the players, I don’t want to see now on social media, but we got to be professional, we know our game plan is positive. We we’re going to do something (tomorrow) to surprise the people.”
