Maduka: Going To The Final Was Most Important

Bloemfontein Celtic coach John Maduka congratulated his side for containing SuperSport United and making their way to the final of the MTN8.

Siwelele will meet Orlando Pirates or Kaizer Chiefs in the showpiece match of the competition after beating Matsatsantsa 1-0 in the second-leg.

Celtic won 2-1 on aggregate, and Maduka believes that the result was the most important thing on the day.

“We knew that SuperSport will come at us, but we managed to contain them,” the coach told SuperSport after the game.

“We knew we would get opportunities later in the game. We are happy that we are going to the final; that’s the most important thing.

“Anything can happen in a cup final, this is our second final in a short period of time. We hope that we can win the final, we think that it’s gonna be a different story.”

There was also a controversial moment in the match, which could have led to a penalty, and Maduka added: “We saw it and we thought the man in the middle was going to give it. We thought he saw it but I don’t know, maybe we will see it in the video clip.”
