Tembo Won’t Find Excuses For Semi-Final Loss

SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo had no gripes or excuses for his team failing to reach the final of the MTN8.

The Matsatsantsa coach saw his side go down 1-0 in the second-leg, resulting in a 2-1 aggregate loss.

Tembo said that he couldn’t fault his team for effort, but felt like it just was not their day.

“Congratulations to John (Maduka) and Celtic for reaching the final; they deserve to go through,” Tembo told SuperSport after the game.

“We started well in the first-half and I can not really fault the players, we tried. I think we could have played for three or four hours without scoring because it wasn’t our day.

“From the first whistle we created a great chance but we could not put it in the back of the net.”
