Mathoho & Parker Confident Ahead Of SuperSport

Kaizer Chiefs players Eric Mathoho and Bernard Parker have expressed their confidence ahead of their clash against SuperSport United.

Amakhosi picked up a 4-0 win against Chippa United in their previous league game but will now face unbeaten SuperSport United, who sit in second place on the log, on Sunday.

Mathoho, though, insisted he is not interested in the table and insisted Chiefs are ready for an opponent who has troubled them in the past.

“I don’t look at the table. I have been looking at their players, who their on-form guys are, and who I will need to be giving attention to,” he told the club’s media department.

“We know the game will be tough, but their current form and results don’t concern me.

“We are ready to fight. We know SuperSport have given us problems in the past, but we are ready for them this time around.”

Parker also insisted that the Glamour Boys always raise their game against better sides and will be keen to end their five-match winless run against SuperSport.

“Games against SuperSport United are always good games because they have a good structure and teams that are well equipped,” he added

“We know they are strong from set plays and they have a lethal front force. We did play them in a friendly game earlier in the season. We did well in the game, which is a tip to the guys on what SuperSport will be about.

“For the past two years, we have done well against teams who are on form. We saw this in the Champions League as well. It’s good for us and it is motivational to win the game.

“They are very solid and it’s up to us to apply ourselves. After winning our last game, it will be good for us going into this game.”

The game will kick off at 17:30 at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.
