Ncikazi Makes Huge Hlatshwayo Claim
Mandla Ncikazi has revealed he had a private conversation with Thulani Hlatshwayo and insisted everyone will see a changed ‘Tyson’ in 2021/22.
The new Orlando Pirates assistant coach joined Josef Zinnbauer’s technical team to work with the German tactician and Fadlu Davids.
Ncikazi gave his first radio interview this week, saying Hlatshwayo was one of the first players he spoke to since arriving at the club.
“The first discussion I had with any player at the club, was with Tyson,” he told the Ultimate Sport Show.
“Great human being, very intelligent. He is not a captain by mistake. History, how he grew up at Ajax…
“But I can guarantee you one thing, you will see a different Tyson, I can put my head on the block.
“Wait for it, if we don’t go 10 games without a changed Tyson, phone me and I owe you something.
“But I can guarantee you, we will see a different Tyson. We spoke. We spoke about a lot of things, about the team, his individual performances, where he wants to get this season, what he wants to achieve…”
Hlatshwayo joined Pirates from Bidvest Wits ahead of 2020/21 but even admitted himself that he was not happy with his performances in his first campaign at Orlando Stadium.
