TS Galaxy Head Coach Owen Da Gama was proud of his team after they fought back to beat Swallows in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday.
Galaxy scored twice in the final five minutes of regulation time to hand Swallows their first defeat of the season.
Da Gama was very proud of his team’s fighting spirit, and said the win is everyone at the club.
Galaxy moved into eight position with the victory.
It was always going to be tough. I think Swallows have had five or six penalties this season, a lot of penalties. And we knew that we up against it,” Da Gama told the club’s media department..
“And we said, let’s not play the offside trap, let’s play. And I think, from a tactical point of view, we were on top of them from the first minute. I mean, 10 shots that goes in the first half, that tells you how dominant we were in the first half.”
“But in saying that I must be proud of the boys you know, we go down a penalty, we get given a penalty, it gets cancelled, then from a penalty it becomes a corner kick, you know, so but against all adversity, our boys kept on fighting and fighting and fighting.”
“And that’s what we want to see, we want to see that work ethic, we want to see the fighting spirit. Nobody can take fighting spirit away from you, they can take everything, but fighting spirit nobody can take away from you. So we are very, very happy with the result.”
“And I must say hats off to the technical team. And most importantly, hats off to the players and the support staff and the entire team. The nice thing about TS Galaxy is it’s all about the completeness of the team. Everybody plays a small role in the team that affects the result. Everybody, in the back room, the videos, everybody, this victory is for everybody.”
