TS Galaxy Owen Da Gama was not happy after his team’s 1-0 defeat to Stellenbosch, and said Pagiso Sanoka’s red card was ‘childish’.
Galaxy were reduced to ten men in the opening ten minutes of the game, and Da Gama says Sanoka’s actions are not acceptable at this level of football.
He was also not happy with Ashley Du Preez’s winning goal, and says he felt it was offside.
“It’s so childish to get a red card like that, that is unacceptable at this level of football, you know, strikers are going to close you down,” Da Gama said after the loss.
“And we mentioned that we shouldn’t be too casual on the ball. And to get a red card like that is, at this level, it’s just unacceptable.
“It’s really, and that just put us on the backfoot, you know, playing away and getting a red card, it just puts you on the backfoot. And it just makes things so difficult for you.
“But apart from that, I also thought that the goal they scored, it looked offside from my perspective, looked very, very offside, clear offside.
“But also, we mentioned that Dimgba when he gets the ball on the right hand side, he’s left footed, he’s gonna cut in, he scored the same goal, he scored a goal where he cut in, he had a shot and he scored. So to allow that to happen it’s not acceptable at this level of football. It’s truly not acceptable.
“But we’ll deal with it, we’ll fix up where we have to fix up. I’ve had my concerns on one or two players. And I’ve stated that to the chairman, and we’ll try and address things and fix up where we can fix up.”
