Official: CT City Confirm Mapfumo Loan

Cape Town City have announced their third departure of the January transfer window, with Douglas Mapfumo joining Cape Town All Stars on loan until the end of the season.

The Citizens have already lost Surprise Ralani to Mamelodi Sundowns while Shane Roberts was loaned to TS Galaxy.

On Tuesday, City confirmed that the 21-year-old striker also completed a loan until the end of the season, joining GladAfrica side Cape Town All Stars, as previously reported by iDiski Times.

Mapfumo featured in five DStv Premiership games as well as two MTN8 matches for City this season.

It will be Mapfumo’s second spell in the GladAfrica, having spent the 2020/2021 season at now defunct Cape Umoya United, where he scored two goals in 21 appearances.

Eric Tinkler’s squad are set to reassemble next week to prepare for the remainder of the league season and the Nedbank Cup.
