Official: Yeye Retires
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane has officially retired from the beautiful game.
The 39-year-old posted a cryptic video on social media, that shows the veteran midfielder showcase all shirts he has worn thought out his illustrious career.
He can also be seen throwing his football boots away before the videos finishes with “Thank you, Yeye 6.”
This publication has since learned that the video is indeed an announcement of his retirement.
The former Bafana Bafana international was last contracted to TS Galaxy but only featured in 10 DStv Premiership games.
He played for Jomo Cosmos, Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United before being part of the Highlands Park set-up in 2019/2020, and when Tim Sukazi bought the franchise, Yeye was one of the players from Highlands who made the move to Galaxy.
He has made 386 appearances for the five clubs he has played and represented the South African national team 54 times. Yeye lifted six trophies throughout his playing days, with four of them coming during his time at Chiefs, while he added two more with SuperSport.
