SV Ried have shown interest in Cape Town City winger Jaedin Rhodes as a potential replacement for Antonio van Wyk ahead of next season.

Van Wyk, 24, looks poised to complete a move to Mamelodi Sundowns after two seasons in Austria, having joined the club from Stellenbosch FC in September 2024.

With Sundowns looking to bolster their attacking options, van Wyk was identified as a key wide attacking option to compete with the likes of Tashreeq Matthews, and Kutlwano Letlhaku as the Kabomelo Kodisang transfer has seemingly not worked out for neither the player, not club.

iDiski Times has now been informed the Austrian Bundesliga club have made contact with the Citizens over their key attacker who has been an ever-present figure in the first team since earning promotion from the DStv Diski Challenge squad in 2022.

It remains to be seen if interest will materialise into another investement from the country, with the club having signed Yusuf Maart last season from Kaizer Chiefs.

Rhodes was strongly linked with a move to Sundowns last season, while Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have also been mooted as suitors in seasons gone by.
