Barely a week after lifting the inaugural TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League trophy, Mamelodi Sundowns successfully defended their domestic title.
Sundowns, in their first game since returning from Egypt, defeated JVW Girls 2-1 in the capital city, and confirmed their title, as they now cannot be caught by on table.
Rhoda Mulaudzi assisted both goals for Andisiwe Mgcoyi and Chantel Mokwena in the first half and the victory extended their goal tally to 64 points from 23 matches. JVW remained in fourth spot with 45 points from 24 outings.
In the other midweek result First Touch Academy lost 3-2 Tshwane University of Pretoria (TUT) in Seshego.
Both sides maintained fifth and second spots on the log respectively, though First Touch has 39 points from 25 games and TUT 58 points from the same number of matches.
