Sundowns Maintain Unbeaten Run

JVW Girls registered the highest score-line in week 12 of the Hollywoodbets Super League this past weekend as they humbled Tsunami Queens 7-0 in Tsakani. Lethabo Kganyago reports

The win sees the Gauteng based side in fifth place with 20 points and the Queens in 13th with seventh points both from 11 games.

Second placed University of the Western Cape (UWC) were held to a goalless draw by Durban ladies in Kaw Zulu Natal. UWC have collected 25 points from 12 outings while Durban Ladies are ninth 13 points from the same number of games.

There were two other draws this weekend the 1-1 result between First Touch Academy and University of Johannesburg (UJ) in Seshego, a result that has Dikgoṧigadi tṧa Limpopo in fourth spot on the table with 22 points and UJ un 12th spot with nine points both from 11 encounters.

The other stalemate also in Limpopo was the 1-1 draw between MaIndies Ladies and Thunderbirds Ladies in Giyani. With that result the rookies from the North find themselves in eighth place with 14 points while the Eastern Cape based side are above them with 15 points from 12 matches.

Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) were 3-0 over Golden Ladies and with that Golden Ladies remain bottom of the log with six points while TUT are third with 24 points both from 12 matches.

Mamelodi Sundowns maintained their unbeaten run when they beat Richmond Untied 5-1. Jerry Tshabalala’s charges remain at the summit of the table with 31 points from 11 matches while United are 10th with 11 points from 12 matches. 

The match between Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies and Coal City Wizards was called off due to rain.
