Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates now know which opponents they will face in the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively.
Both cubs will not be playing in the opening preliminary round of their respective competitions as they received exemptions on the basis of their previous continental performances. They will join CAF competitions in the second preliminary round.
Sundowns qualified for the biggest club tournament in Africa by winning the last edition of the Absa Premiership last season. In a draw that was conducted on Monday by CAF, Sundowns were drawn against the winners of the encounter between Botswana’s Jwaneng FC and US Zilimadjou from Comoros.
Pirates, who qualified for the Confederations Cup via a third place league finish last season, will face the winner between Eswatini’s Mbabane Swallows and Sagranda Esperanca from Angola.
iBhakaniya and Masandawana are the only clubs in Southern Africa to win the CAF Champions League.
