SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo says with the changes at Maritzburg United, he expects them to be motivated when the two teams meet on Friday night at Harry Gwala Stadium.
Maritzburg and Eric Tinkler parted ways at the start of the week, and appointed Delron Buckley as their caretaker coach, however there is strong speculation that Ernst Middendorp might be appointed coach there in the coming days.
Middendorp quit Ethiopian club St. George this week.
SuperSport suffered a disappointing 2-1 loss to Pirates on the weekend, but Tembo says they’ve already put the defensive slip up that led to Pirates’ second goal behind them, and he has been pleased with the how the team has responded this week.
“Yah look, it was disappointing to lose the game the way we lost it, but we’ve put that behind us, I think the week has been very good,” Kaitano Tembo said.
“We’ve got to take it one game at a time, and also have all the players available, in terms of team selection, so we’re quite happy and the guys are looking forward to the game.”
“Yah, difficult game, you know it will be a very tough game, it’s always difficult you know, going to Maritzburg.”
“We have to go there with the right attitude, the right mentality, and I’ve seen that at training the attitude has been very good, and we’re looking forward to the game, especially having everyone available you know. I’m quite happy about that.”
“We’re not really going to look to much into what is happening there, they’ve made changes, so they will be motivated, so it’s not going to be an easy game, so we just have to go out there and play well, and play our game.”
