Cape Town City teen sensation Emile Witbooi has vowed that they should not be doubted in their efforts to restore the club’s dignity following their relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship for next season.
The Citizens finished 15th in the 2024/25 Betway Premiership campaign and thus saw themselves dragged into the PSL Promotion Playoff battle against Casric Stars and Orbit College.
Their fate was sealed when they lost 1-0 to Orbit, who were subsequently promoted to topflight football for the 2025/26 term.
Witbooi, 16, featured five times for the senior side since being promoted in 2024 and the youngster reckons that the club will be back to where it belongs.
“Don’t doubt us Citizens. We won’t stop until this club is where it belongs,” he said.
