Zinnbauer Enjoying Continental Football Experience

Orlando Pirates Head Coach Josef Zinnbauer says he is finding the experience of competing in his first CAF Confederation Cup very interesting.

Pirates beat Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy 1-0 on Sunday to win 4-0 over two legs and qualify for the group stages.

While it is certainly not Pirates’ first taste of continental football, it is a new experience for the German coach.

Zinnbauer is particularly happy to be able to give young players like Azola Tshobeni the exposure, and he was impressed with the youngster’s performance on Sunday.

“Yeah, for me it is interesting. I get more information about other countries. We can see, also new systems what they play,” Zinnbauer said about his first sojourn into CAF continental football.

“For me, it’s always important the players get new information, they get experience. And that is for me, as a coach important.”

“Get more inputs for the players, young players like Azola (today) make a very good game, and he gets the next step or he has a small step forward. Like in the defence I remember on the duel in the midfield, I think this guy is close to 1.90 metres, and Azola wins the duel and this is for me, good to see.”

“Young players get international games, and we can improve the players that is important for me as a coach.”
