Dumisani Zuma feels that Kaizer Chiefs’ Nedbank Cup tie against Richards Bay is a good opportunity for the club to bounce back after the loss in the Soweto derby.
Chiefs host GladAfrica Championship side Richards Bay on Saturday at the FNB Stadium.
Zuma told Chiefs media department that it could also be a chance for a few of the fringe players to get more game time.
“I think it’s a good chance for us, since we lost the last game, like to bounce back, so I think it’s gonna be good for the players and those that are not playing maybe they’ll get a chance to play,” Zuma told Chiefs media.
Coach Gavin Hunt has also hinted that he may promote Sabelo Radebe from the Diski set-up, though only referred to the player as ‘Bibo’ in the virtual pre-match press conference.
Zuma, who has mostly made 5 of his 8 appearances off the bench this season adds, “I’m still not like fully fit but I think it’s a work in progress eventually I’ll be fit enough like to play regularly.”
Zuma says not knowing much about their opponents is not the ideal situation.
“I will say it’s it’s very difficult to play against such teams because we don’t have like a lot of information that we know about them. So I think we need to stick to our own philosophy and and play to win.”
“I will say it’s a tricky time for us since we playing games thick and fast.”
“I think it’s gonna be key for us to to maintain the discipline, the recovery like so that we can be able to battle all the games.”
