Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Arthur Zwane has revealed how he feels replacing Gavin Hunt before discussing his targets for the final two DStv Premiership games.
The 47-year-old and Dillon Sheppard took over from Hunt after he was sacked last week Friday.
The duo are expected to lead Amakhosi in their two final league games and Zwane insisted they want to win both of them.
“I’ve been, you know, taking things one step at a time,” he told the club’s media department.
“I’m one person that believes in working hard and wait for things to come to you and not you start chasing things.
“So yeah, I cannot say it’s the opportunity. I can say, the team just believe that I can take the team forward until the end of the season.
“We are in a situation where we all know that is a difficult situation as a team, we need to grind results.
“As you know, we haven’t been doing well, but it’s part of the game. You win some and lose some.
“Unfortunately, we’re in a situation where we have to get maximum points at all costs. So yeah, we’ve been preparing the boys. They had a training and they’re looking forward to the game.”
Hunt was fired after winning just two of the last 16 DStv Premiership games, but Zwane says he wants to motivate the players to secure maximum points against Golden Arrows and TS Galaxy.
“Look, this team taught me about winning when I arrived there as a player, it was always about winning. And nothing will change that my mindset is like that.
“I’m looking forward to make sure that encourage the players who push the play as we prepare the team to make sure that we collect the maximum points in both games.”
Chiefs currently sit in 11th spot, five points above the relegation playoff position and also five points behind eighth-placed Galaxy.
