MTN8 Semi-Final Draw Confirmed

The MTN8 semi-finals have been drawn on Sunday evening, with Stellenbosch facing Orlando Pirates, while Kaizer Chiefs meet Mamelodi Sundowns.

Stellenbosch FC were the last team to book their ticket after beating SuperSport United in the last quarter-final in extra-time on Sunday evening at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Earlier, Kaizer Chiefs knocked out Cape Town City at a packed Athlone Stadium thanks to a later winner by Edson Castillo.

On Saturday, Orlando Pirates set a real marker by beating Sekhukhune United 5-0, with Zakhele Lepasa scoring a hat-trick.

The first team to book their semi-final spot were Mamelodi Sundowns, who defeated Moroka Swallows 1-0.

On Sunday, the semi-final fixtures were drawn, with Stellenbosch FC hosting Orlando Pirates at home in the first leg of the first semi-final.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs will host Mamelodi Sundowns at home in the first leg of the second semi-final.

Both Pirates and Chiefs have a chance at instant revenge after the Cape-Winelands side beat Pirates in their season opener at Danie Craven Stadium, while Sundowns beat Amakhosi 2-1 in midweek.

The semi-finals are scheduled for the weekend of the 2 September for the first legs and the 23 September for the second leg, with the exact dates yet to be confirmed.
