Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi was left baffled after goalkeeper Brandon Petersen was given a straight red card by referee Sikhumbuso Gasa.
Petersen, who was the back-up goalkeeper for Bruce Bvuma, was given his marching orders in the 77th minute after Gasa consulted with his fourth official in Amakhosi’s 3-1 victory at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
The Tunisian mentor denied that Petersen did in any way remonstrate or say anything to either the referee, his assistant or fourth official.
“About the red card, I don’t really know what happened,” Nabi told the media in his post-match presser.

“Because Brandon didn’t say anything. He didn’t complain or talk to the referee.
“He was talking to his goalkeeper teammate. He was as well doing warm-up because we thought that the goalkeeper [Bruce Bvuma] was injured.
Chiefs joined Orlando Pirates in the semis after the Buccaneers needed a 5-4 penalty shootout victory to see off SuperSport United after the tie had ended 2-2 in extra-time.
