There were several new and uncapped faces in Hugo Broos’ 38-man Bafana Bafana squad announced on Tuesday. Broos’ men will take on Uganda on 6 September before facing South Sudan away from home four days later to kick off their qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The Belgian tactician announced an initial 38-man squad and will still trim it down to 23 players, who will assemble in camp. Former SuperSport United winger Thabo Mnyamane has announced his retirement from professional football aged 32. The three-time capped South Africa international has been without a club for two years since suffering a knee injury with his last club Marumo Gallants.
