Alexander Return To PSL On The Cards

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Cole Alexander is on the edge of making his Premier Soccer League return with Cape Town Spurs and Polokwane City said to be interested in him.

Alexander became a free agent in June 2023 after Chiefs and the player agreed to mutually terminate his contract. In August he joined Swedish second division side Helsingborg IF then coached by Stuart Baxter.

The 34-year-old helped the side to survive relegation, scoring one goal and laying an assist during his short spell in Sweden. But after the exit of Baxter, Alexander saw his contract not renewed, which meant that he is once again a free agent.

Information gathered by this publication state that both newly-promoted sides, Polokwane City and Cape Town Spurs are looking on getting the experienced midfielder for the reminder of the season.

The former SuperSport United man plied his trade at Spurs during the days of Ajax Cape Town and also feature for Rise and Shine in the past.

Polokwane are sitting in ninth place and aim to strengthen their squad for the reminder of the season, while struggling Spurs need any help to survive the chop at the end of the campaign and the experience of Alexander could help the side.

The Urban Warriors recently announced the signing of Mogamad De Goede, but Ernst Middendorp stated that they need to make more signings to have a chance at survival.
