Kaizer Chiefs have emerged as a contender to sign DR Congo international forward Glody Lilepo.
Reports in France emerged that Valenciennes FC are open to the sale of the 27-year-old who joined them from Sudanese giants Al Hilal in September 2023.
Lilepo will be fondly remembered for his stint under Florent Ibenge’s guidance where he scored five goals in 10 CAF Champions League games before his move to France.
However, the club were relegated in his first season, leading to budget cuts where he’s struggled to regain his form.
iDiski Times contacted his representatives who refused to confirm nor deny the reports emanating in Foot Mercato, but insist there’s several clubs looking to lure him back to Africa.
Club Africain, Kaizer Chiefs and a club in Ligue 2 are said to be the first to make contact with the club, with a deal ready to be sanctioned at €500,000.
However, the player is keen to continue his career in Europe and will need some convincing for a potential move to the South African top-flight.
Lilepo has scored seven goals with five assists in 46 games across all competitions for the French outfit.
