Romanian giants FCSB have turned down a €5 million offer for Siyabonga Ngezana from French Ligue 1 side Lorient, according to reports.
Ngezana joined FCSB in August in a deal worth around €600 000 (R12.4 million) and has since become a strong pillar of his new team.
Initially it took a bit of time for the former Kaizer Chiefs defender to settle in but when he did, he became a starter and led the side to the top of the table.
In September, outspoken club president Gigi Becali stated that he is willing to sell the Chiefs development player for an amount of €7 million euros, which is equivalent to R145 million.
Last month, iDiski Times reported that Ligue 1 side FC Lorient are interested Ngezana, while latest reports from Europe state the French side tabled a €5 million (R104 million) offer for the defender, who has been instrumental for the side as they aim to clinch their first ever league title since 2014/15 season.
PlaySport now report that the outspoken Becali didn’t entertain talks with the French Ligue 1 side after learning that they’ve tabled a lesser amount than what he is expecting.
Lorient currently sit at the bottom of Ligue 1 and are keen to beef up their squad to avoid relegation.
For any sale of Ngezana Amakhosi hold a 10% sell-on-fee, as reported by this publication in October, which means they could be in for a nice payday once the 26-year-old moves to a new club.
