Former SuperSport United Ime Okon arrived in Germany ahead of his move to Bundesliga 2 side Hannover 96.
Following a lot of speculation around Okon who had been heavy linked with Kaizer Chiefs in the last few weeks, iDiski Times reported first that the towering defender was closing in on a move to the German side.Â
The 21-year-old arrived in Germany on Monday night with the deal close to being agreed, with only the medical tests needing to be done which is expected to take place at Hannover Medical School soon.
The Bafana Bafana international, who recently won silver at the 2025 COSAFA Cup, is expected to sign a long-term contract with the German outfit.
Christian Titz, who is the new head coach of Hannover 96, has been targeting Oko since his days at FC Magdeburg and will now sign him for his new club. H96 finished in ninth place last season, conceding 36 goals.
The Johannesburg-born centre-back could make his debut on 3rd August when the Bundesliga 2 season gets underway.
