Former Real Madrid striker has joined Saudi Arabian giants Al Ittihad on a three-year deal.
Benzema, 35, announced his Real departure only on Sunday after spending 14 years at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He made 648 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 354 goals, helping his club to lift 25 trophies.
On Tuesday, Al Ittihad announced Benzema’s arrival after he only had his official Real Madrid farewell earlier in the day.
According to reports, Benzema will earn €200 million per season at Al Ittihad.
He is the first player signed after the announcement that the country’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), who own a 80% share in Premier League side Newcastle United, would take over control of the four founding members of the Saudi Pro League, namely: Al Ahli (Pitso Mosimane’s club), Al Ittihad, Al Hilal and Al Nassr.
Benzema follows Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in January on a similar deal.
