Official: Chiefs Player Joins Club In Europe

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the departure of Siyabonga Ngezana to Romanian giants Fotbal Club FCSB on Thursday morning.

The Glamour Boys already announced the exit of veteran defender Eric Mathoho, who will leave Naturena after his contract was not extended following 11 years with club.

Amakhosi have been relatively quiet in the off-season so far, amid rumours the club are assessing new coaching options to replace Arthur Zwane.

Young Africans SC head coach Nasreddine Nabi is the favourite and currently engaged in contract negotiations with the club.

In the middle of those talks, Chiefs now announced the departure of Siyabonga Ngezana for an undisclosed fee.

“Kaizer Chiefs bid farewell to defender, Siyabonga Ngezana, who has signed for Romanian Liga 1 powerhouse, Fotbal Club FCSB, formerly known as Steaua Bucharesti,” the club said via a statement.

“We wish him all the best!”

Ngezana, 25, came through the clubs youth ranks and made his debut in a 3-0 win over AmaZulu in the Telkom Knockout Cup on 28 October 2017. He has since made 123 appearance for the senior side, including 23 in 2022/23/

Fotbal Club FCSB have won 26 Romanian league titles and will play in the UEFA Conference League next season.
