Chippa United have officially unveiled Orlando Pirates midfielder Siphelo Baloni, as previously reported by iDiski Times.
Baloni, 24, joined Pirates last season from Motsepe Foundation Championship side All Stars FC after he had a stellar campaign in 2022/23.
In his first season with the Buccaneers, Baloni won two trophies – MTN8 and Nedbank Cup but he made just 13 appearances across all competitions and was now loaned to the Chilli Boys.
On Monday, he was unveiled during the club’s kit launch alongside left-back Gabriel Michael, or better known as Gadiel Kamagi, who was at Cape Town Spurs last season.
“Chippa United FC is thrilled to announce the official launch of our brand-new kit for the 2024/2025 season, designed to embody the passion, pride, and resilience of our beloved club,” the club stated.
“This momentous occasion also saw the introduction of our latest signings who are set to strengthen the squad and bring fresh energy to the team. Among the talented new players unveiled at the press event were: – Siphelo Baloni – A versatile midfielder ready to make an impact. – Gabriel Michael – From Tanzania A promising left back bringing international experience.”
Chippa also confirmed their continued partnership with Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, despite the club’s previous announcement to take more games to Buffalo City Stadium.
“In attendance was the esteemed Executive Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, who took time to address the media, expressing their continued support for Chippa United FC. Their presence reaffirms the importance of local collaboration as we strive for success both on and off the pitch,” the club continued.
