Official: Musona Lands News Club

Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Knowledge Musona has officially joined Saudi Arabian side Al Riyadh SC.

Musona, who is now often playing as an attacking midfielder, had a good season with Saudi Arabia Pro League side Al Tai, which he joined from RSC Anderlecht in July 2021.

The 32-year-old, though, didn’t renew his contract with the top-flight club after it expired at the end of the season.

The Zimbabwean international made 29 appearances this campaign, scoring eight goals (after one was rated an own goal) and assisting on nine occasions.

He will be back in the Saudi Pro League after joining Al Riyadh, who finished fourth in the Yelo League (first division) of Saudi Arabia and gained automatic promotion to the Saudi Pro League.

He will be competing in the elite league against his former team Al Tai, as well as the four big clubs, Pitso Mosimane’s former side Al Ahli Saudi, Al Hilal, Al Nassr and Al Ittihad, who were all taken over by the country’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and received a massive cash injection.

With an involvement in 17 goals, Musona was among the most productive players in the Saudi Pro League – ending up on one more than Cristiano Ronaldo, who netted 14 times and set up two more.
