Pirates New Technical Team Confirmed

Orlando Pirates have confirmed Abdeslam Ouaddou’s technical team after announcing the Moroccan as the club’s new head coach.

The former Marumo Gallants coach has been announced as permanent replacement for Jose Riveiro, who left the club to join Al Ahly.

The Buccaneers had also been in talks with Rulani Mokwena over a potential return but talks broke down over Mokwena’s technical team.

Instead, Ouaddou will work with members of Riveiro’s technical team who are already at the club.

“Coach Ouaddou, who is expected to arrive in South Africa towards the end of the week, will be assisted by Mandla Ncikazi and Rayaan Jacobs, Helmi Gueldich and Tyron Damons,” the club stated.

Ncikazi and Jacobs will be assistant coaches, while Gueldich continues as Strength & Conditioning Coach and Damons as Goalkeeper Coach.

The Buccaneers will return for pre-season on June 27 ahead of their third consecutive international pre-season tour to Marbella, Spain.

The training camp is set to run from 8 July to 20 July, and includes four high-level friendly matches against European opponents including Bolton Wanderers (England), Pafos FC (Cyprus), Las Palmas (Spain), and Granada (Spain).
