Qatar Interest In Pirates Striker

Orlando Pirates striker Kwame Peprah, who looks set to leave the club in the off-season, has attracted interest from the Qatari second-tier.

iDiski Times have been informed the player, who has struggled to make an impact during his six-month loan at Maritzburg United is being courted in the Gulf.

Having seen a move to Libyan giants Al Ahli fall through in the previous transfer windows, the Ghanaian is now poised to leave the club after falling heavily down the pecking order.

Simba SC were also credited with interest in the player, but this website understands, neither Pirates nor the player were officially approached by the East African giants.

Peprah was left disillusioned by the reluctance to let him go but it was later cleared up as a miscommunication within the club and the reported interested parties.

The six-month loan to the Team of Choice then materialised in the January window and with competition fierce at the Soweto giants, there’s a mutual understanding his long-term future is best served with a move away this upcoming transfer window.

However, it remains to be seen if the interest generates an official bid in Qatar, with his representatives working around the clock to get his career back on track that promised much during his time in his homeland with King Faisal.

This rumour first appeared in the iDiski Times newspaper, edition 104.
