Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile has revealed how his move to Young Africans came about during the current transfer window.
The Namibian forward parted ways with the Brazilians at the end of last season after spending six successful years at the Tshwane club.
During that period, he made 228 appearances, scored 107 goals and provided 27 assists.
Shalulile explained that after leaving Sundowns, he held discussions with Young Africans president Hersi Ally Said.
He revealed that the club president had first expressed interest in signing him several years ago, telling him he hoped to bring him to Yanga one day.
After praying about his next move, Shalulile said everything pointed towards joining the Tanzanian giants, leading him to complete the switch.
“It was a little bit tough, but what made it easy for me was I met the chairman a few years ago,” said Shalulile.
“And he had a dream that I’ll one day play for this big club which is Yanga. For me also, it was a personal choice.
“I make decisions based on how my heart feels. Spiritually, it means follow where your heart wants you to be.
“When we spoke with chairman, we spoke and I said give me like two days. I prayed about it and obviously the Lord made it possible for me and I ended up here.”
