Mamelodi Sundowns teenager Kutlwano Letlhaku is starting to attract interest from Europe and his representatives are hopeful of finding common ground.
Letlhaku was promoted to the Sundowns first team after just one season in the DStv Diski Challenge squad after his arrival from the esteemed football academy that has started to become a talent hotbed once again.

He reached double digits for goals and assists and slotted seamlessly into the first team at the Brazilians which drew massive praise from former coach Manqoba Mnqgithi at the start of the 2024/25 campaign.
“I can guarantee you he’s going to be one of the big revelations this season, he has done exceptionally well from pre-season and he has scored some terrific goals,” he said before the season began.
“I think that boy is a very big talent, and if there’s someone I think has a realistic chance of going overseas, it’s that boy – I rate him very highly.”
And their interest has started to turn into concentrated talks with sources close to the player confirming there have been offers put to Sundowns from the Danish Superliga.
While the valuation of the player may not be aligned with the first approaches for the talent, the discussions are that he has all the tools to be able to make it, with Mnqgithi having explained why when tipping him for success.
“Technically he’s very smooth, he’s got very broad shoulders, he is never scared of anything and is ready to take on any challenge. I see a very bright future ahead of him, but he must keep his feet on the ground and stay humble.”
Letlhaku has since scored three goals with four assists in 15 games of senior football, nearing the figures someone like Shandre Campbell did in his debut senior campaign with SuperSport United which led to a lucrative switch to Club Brugge.
As left-footed attackers, the comparisons are natural but Lethlaku’s height and physical strength, perhaps offer him an edge at his age and when looking towards his ceiling of potential growth.
Campbell hit five goals with six assists in 30 games at the same age, leading towards a reported R15-million move to the Belgian giants, where he’s been starring in their reserve team in the second tier of Belgian football.

His agent Matthew Moore of Centre Circle issues a response to the recent report in iDiski Times online newspaper, stating there’s been interest in Sweden as well, not just the initial offer from the Danish Superliga.
“Yes, there have been top clubs in both Denmark and Sweden, as well as other leagues, who have made inquiries with Sundowns about Kutlwano,” he told iDiski Times.
“Up until this point – Sundowns have been unwilling to engage with the clubs despite the fact that the last league game Kutlwano started was in November [where he netted a brace against Polokwane City] and he has seen less time under the new coach.
“This is obviously a major challenge when young players come through the ranks at a big and successful and ambitious club like Sundowns.
“The fear is always that young players reach a glass ceiling and aren’t really able to progress much because their game-time is so limited.
“We would love to work with Sundowns to find a solution for a young player who we believe is the top young talent in South African football at present.
“We’d love to play a part in helping Sundowns to demonstrate that young Sundowns talent is able to go overseas and become successful.”
