Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi has confirmed the club’s latest signing.
Last week, iDiski Times reported that Stellenbosch striker Iqraam Rayners could be on his way to the league champions.
Now at the post-match press conference after Sundowns beat Polokwane City in the MTN8, Mngqithi has confirmed that the 28-year-old is on his way to Chloorkop.
The Sundowns coach was referring to players who are versatile and their latest signings offering new dimensions in areas they need to improve, before this publication probed about the latest signing set to arrive in Gauteng tomorrow.
“As for Iqraam, we are happy to have him, he will add something to the club, I’m looking at him more for the Champions League than for the PSL,” he said when asked by iDiski Times if Rayners’ will offer them something they lack.
“In as much as he will help us in the PSL, I think in the Champions League he will really give us more.”
Sundowns activated Rayners’ buyout clause to swiftly secure him ahead of interest from Esperance Sportive de Tunis and USM Alger.
