Former Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu midfielder Bongani Zungu has opened up about his move to India saying he was happy about the offer from his new club Malappuram FC.

Zungu,33, mutually parted ways with Usuthu in May where he spent two seasons featuring in 29 matches across all competitions and scoring one goal.

The move to Asia is not Zungu’s first rodeo outside the shores of South Africa having previously played in Portugal, Scotland and France.

He told SABC Sport’s Mazola Molefe that he spoke to some clubs in the PSL but couldn’t reach an agreement regarding their offers.

“I’m 33 years old and close to the finish line in terms of my career,” Zungu was quoted.

“I said yes to India because of the offer I got. I was really happy about it, and after the conversation, I felt it was a good move.

“I spoke to a few PSL clubs after leaving Usuthu, but we could not find a solution regarding the offers on the table.”
