Loan Deal Cut Short For Sundowns Talent

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Nicholus Lukhubeni has confirmed his loan spell at fellow DStv Premiership outfit Sekhukhune United is over.

Lukhubeni has spent the first part of the 2021/2022 season at Sekhukhune, but only featured once for Macdonald Makhubedu’s team, and for just a few minutes off the bench in their win over Royal AM in November.

Lukhubeni spent last season on loan at Tshakhuma (now Marumo Gallants), where he was part of the team that won the Nedbank Cup.

The 25-year-old made his Sundowns’ debut back in the 2019/2020 season and has featured five times for his mother club. He is expected to go out on loan again, with his name already connected to a few clubs.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Chairman, the board, the management, technical team, staff, supporters and my dear colleagues that I spent most of time with on the pitch – my teammates for giving me the opportunity to play for Sekhukhune United,” Lukhubeni said the statement.

“I really learnt a lot and enjoyed my stay at the club. It is now time for a new chapter. I have officially and amicably parted ways with the club

“My management agency will advise what’s next for me. It will be communicated in the near future.”
