Having joined TS Galaxy two weeks ago, Bernard Parker said he respected the decision that saw him cut ties with Kaizer Chiefs after eleven years at the club.
The 36-year-old spoke to Velile Mnyandu in this week’s edition of iDiski Times.
Parker said he respected Chiefs’ decision and understood the business reasons to not renew his playing contract, and said the club has a new vision for its future.
“Uh, I think football not only goes with playing, it also goes with business-wise as well, it is also visionary, you know,” Parker told iDiski Times.
“Clubs have visions and things like that. So, when that decision was made by the club and they called me in, I respected that. I respect the decision and I understand because I’m an educated person as well, so I understand.
“I wish the club well and I wish them the very best going forward with the new coach, the new players. They have got a young and exciting team as well, and they have got a great vision for the near future.
“So, I respect that and I wish them all the best. My heart is always with them and I just had to accept that.
“Going forward we discussed a few things but it didn’t happen. It’s football, I understand decisions go with football and business and I respect that.”
